The Slant's 2016 Endorsement
We’ve been silent thus far, but no longer.
In this year of 2016, we the American people find ourselves at a critical juncture in our nation’s history. One wrong turn could lead us down a dark, destructive path from which we may never return. It’s paramount that each citizen acts to ensure that our country stays on the road of goodness and doesn’t veer off into certain extinction. How, you may ask, can one do that? It can only be accomplished through the institution most crucial to all democracies: the electoral system.
Every American citizen can vote, but so few actually take advantage of this right. Why is that? Though many think otherwise, a vote is powerful. One vote can be the difference between future prosperity and demise. This makes it all the more important for us to choose wisely whom we vote for this Tuesday. Think about which candidate will act as a force of good in our nation and which one won’t. To most sane Americans, the choice is clear.
So please, all freedom-loving, God-fearing patriots, if you truly love your country and stand up for the principles upon which it was founded, vote Matthew Retter as Gwinnett County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor.
It’s dire that we act against any more time of current supervisor Larry Kaiser. He has neglected our land ever since the day he stepped into office, implementing policies serving only the soil lobby that so generously donates to his campaign. What has Kaiser done to help the common dirt owner of Gwinnett County? From this writer’s perspective, nearly nothing.
This is why it’s so important that we vote for Matthew Retter as Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor. He will truly represent and fight for our best interests, working to ensure the wellbeing of the salt of the earth. He’s what we truly need.
The future is in our hands, and we can rest easy if we give it over to Matthew Retter, the one candidate who can steer our country into calm and prosperous waters.
Well, you actually vote for two supervisors, so we guess you should just choose the candidate with the funniest name for the other slot.
